The smallest version of our Golden gravel the 6mm size is mainly for use in alpine planting areas and rockeries. This size is often referred to as an alpine grit and can be known by other names like Barley Gold Gravel, Golden Flint, Southern Gold Gravel, Corn Gravel, Rhinegold Gravel, Yellow Shingle aggregate and Solent Gravel. It can also be used in the spaces between paving slabs or somewhere you might like a contrasting size. It looks good in the tops of plant pots and planters and is also practical as it helps retain moisture in the soil. This angular flint aggregate contains a varied mixture colours like yellow, gold, cream, honey and brown. If the main intended use is for paths or driveways then the recommended sizes are either Golden Gravel 10mm or Golden Gravel 20mm, with the 20mm being better suited for drives. The size range is approximately 3-8mm. The recommended depth for laying is 20-30mm. Also available... Golden Gravel 10mm & Golden Gravel 20mm
