Blue Welsh Slate Chippings 40mm
From £4.68

The largest of the two sizes of Blue Slate Chippings. It is an eco-friendly product that originates from the roof slate quarries of Wales. A mostly blue-grey colour but can often contain the odd plum or green pieces. Individual pieces can sometimes contain multiple colours. This is caused by changes in the slate seam as the slate is quarried. It looks great in planting areas, rockeries and borders and acts as a mulch, suppressing weeds and keeping the soil moist, although it's advisable to still lay a weed prevention membrane first. It gives a great contemporary look and a strong contrast when used around plants. It's also commonly used for screescapes, water features, ponds, driveways, paths and general decorative landscaping. It will settle and lay very flat very quickly. The blue slate is the flattest of all colours so can provide a neater finish than the other slate and looks fantastic when wet. The approximate length of the chippings ranges between 30-50mm. The recommended depth for laying is roughly 40-50mm. Also available... Blue Welsh Slate Chippings 20mm
