Prepare the Ground
Mark the area, excavate to required depth, then install and compact a solid sub-base (MOT Type 1 or similar).
Level & protect
Apply a thin leveling layer of sharp sand and lay weed membrane.
Install grids
Place and connect the grid panels evenly across the prepared surface.
Fill with gravel
Fill cells with angular gravel and level slightly above the grid.

A gravel mixture of many different stone types, shapes and colour. This low cost gravel is mainly used for drainage and pipe bedding or mixing with concrete. Is sometimes known by different names such as River Washed Gravel and Pea Gravel. It's a cheaper option than using a decorative aggregate if the area is out of public view or for business premises. The size range is approximately 6-14mm. The recommended depth for laying is 30-40mm.
