Horticultural Grit
A grit gravel used mainly for mixing in soils and compost to improve its drainage and structure. It can also be used as a plant topper or on the planting area of rockeries. The size range is approximately 2-6mm.

This is a naturally occurring product and there can be variations in colour. We always photograph the product after washing because it can be dusty when you receive it.
This aggregate is mainly used for mixing with soil or compost to improve the structure and drainage of the soil. With a neutral pH it won't affect the acidity or alkaline properties of the soil. It's ideal for opening up heavy clay soils, reducing the stickiness and preventing it clumping together. The air pockets it creates and ability to help water to drain through the soil helps plant growth.
It can also be used as a cheaper alternative to other 6mm alpine garden gravels or where drier conditions for planting are required. The size range of this grit gravel is slightly smaller at between 2mm and 6mm. It is a pleasing colour mix of pinks and browns. Horticultural grit or potting grit as it's also known is a must for all gardeners and can be put to multiple uses.
