Transparent Delivery Charges

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FREE DELIVERY! At Gravel Shed we give you an accurate price for delivery to your postcode, for the contents of your trolley at the checkout, once we know exactly what you want to order.

Many websites quote either free delivery or the price including delivery to your postcode. This means all products have a blanket delivery charge applied and the delivery price is the same for half a pallet (500kg*) and a full pallet (1,000kg*). So for example, if you wanted 25 poly bags of Golden Gravel and 25 poly bags a Plum Welsh Slate Chippings you would pay for delivery twice but still only receive one pallet containing your order. We put all 50 bags on 1 pallet and you would only be charged the delivery for 1 pallet. This keeps the cost to you as low as possible. At Gravel Shed we are transparent about the cost of delivery so we quote the basic undelivered price (inc. VAT). On the shopping basket page after entering your postcode you will be given a choice of all the available options which include next day delivery, 48 hour or later delivery and time slots.

Our Getting Value For Money video also shows how to make maximum use of each pallet and add a few extra smaller items like rockery stones, different 20kg* Poly bags of gravel, aggregates, slate chippings, pebbles and cobbles. It's always a good idea to add rolls of weed prevention fabric membrane too to make weed removal easier in your gravelled area. See the benefits of using a membrane in our video on Weed Prevention.
