Environmental Policy
Gravel Shed is a distributor of decorative aggregates and stone products to consumers and businesses and is committed to ensuring the goods and services it purchases are delivered, used and disposed of in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.
Protection of the environment in which we operate is part of Gravel Shed's values and principles. It is something considered to be sound business practice. Care for the environment is one of the company’s key responsibilities and an important part of the way in which business is conducted. Gravel Shed makes the following commitments in order to prevent or minimise environmental impacts.
- Comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and approved codes of practice in a manner that has least impact on the environment.
- Seek to keep wastage to a minimum and maximise the efficient use of materials and resources.
- Manage and dispose of all waste in a responsible manner.
- Purchase and use environmentally responsible products accordingly.
- Materials used will be sourced from suppliers who share the company’s commitment to the environment and who can supply an environmentally acceptable product that meets specification requirements.
- Integrate the consideration of environmental concerns and impacts into all of our decision making and activities.
- Measure and communicate our environmental commitment to employees, suppliers, clients, customers and the public and encourage them to support it.
- Monitor and continuously improve our environmental performance and review annually as a minimum.
The policy statement will be reviewed yearly and updated as necessary. The directors and management endorse these policy statements and are fully committed to their implementation.
